Learning Objectives
The project will be based on outcomes from the Alberta Program of Studies for Spanish Language Arts K - 6. Specifically General Outcomes 1 – 6. Students will listen, speak, read, write, view and represent in Spanish, 1) to explore thoughts, ideas, feelings and experiences, 2) to comprehend and respond personally and critically to oral, print, visual and multimedia texts, 3) to manage ideas and information, 4) to enhance the clarity and artistry of communication, 5) to celebrate and build community, and 6) celebrate and build community (Alberta Learn, 2005, p. 7 and 41 ).
This technology module aligns with the Spanish bilingual curriculum for grade 2 through the use of multimedia in order to gather information and share learning. Due to the date of publication, the curriculum is lagging in its understanding and use of technology for learning (Alberta Education, 2005). Therefore, through the development of a TPACK profile and the application of SAMR to this project, there is a lot of freedom to shape students learning based on the curriculum outcomes.
